Senior artists at Djilpin Arts have been sharing culture for decades, ensuring knowledge is being passed on for future generations. As time passes, mobility, steady hand or vision issues increase, with the artist’s ability to document and transfer stories becoming somewhat reduced. Djilpin is supporting our most Senior artists to stay connected and maintain income through our Classic Beswick Series.

About Frankie “Tango” Lane
Frankie is a senior Mayali man who has lived most of his life at Beswick. A master of Mago (West Arnhem didjeridu), Frankie also works on canvas, bark and local timbers. He has produced designs for bronze, textiles and print for Djilpin’s Gapu series. Frankie paints with the traditional jarlk grass brush, a skill learned from masters such as David Blanasi. He is a founding member of Djilpin, has served as a Director for many years.
