Description: Djilpin Arts’ collection of Gapu limited edition prints commenced in 2007 with Basil Hall Editions. Gapu – or water, and the food sources that surround the remote waterways are the inspiration behind much of the work. The long term collaboration between Djilpin Arts and Basil Hall Editions encourages new and emerging artists as well as established artists to experiment with a variety of print making techniques. Etchings and Silk Screens make up Series I to IV, and VI to VII, and Series V includes Japanese Woodblock printing on Iwaki paper.

Artist Bio: Marcus is the son of didjeridu (Mago) Master, David Blanasi and paints in his father’s Mayali tradition. Marcus is represented in the Museum Blanasi Collection with large scale works on canvas. He continues to paint as well as having produced designs for Djilpin’s textile range. Marcus has served as a Djilpin Director and cultural advisor.
